Great article; very informative. Now I know I have one of these "crayon enlargements". When I obtained mine, I wasn't sure what I was looking at and here's how I described it:
Large (25"H x 30"W) hand decorated photograph of masonic lodge officers, late 19th century. Paper laid on linen over wood frame.
Thank you for bringing this photographic process to the laypersons light.
