Town Records
These include documents usually called “Records of the Town Clerk,” or “Minutes of Town Meeting” etc. These records can be found at the town clerk’s office, the town’s historical society, or town library special collections. In addition to information on individual residents, information on town concerns, debates, conflicts, and issues can be found. In Lexington, we have access to transcriptions of town records as well as summaries of key town resolves. Again, the actual primary source is the original manuscript from which these records were made.
