Photography

Like images produced before the invention of photography, photographs are not completely objective.  One must consider the source, the subject, and the creator of a photograph in order to judge its value as a primary source.  The Smithsonian website has a detailed explanation on using documentary photographs as primary sources, which contains a table of contents that includes resources for finding them.
