*The "Siege of Boston" began AFTER the Battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775, and lasted until March of 1776...this period of twelve months is considered the beginning of the Revolutionary War. Conflicts before that were technically civil skirmishes of British colonials against their own government and loyalist military.
